There was an excellent response to the grand opening day for a brand new business, and building, The Plant Barn at Heart of the Shires.
It was always going to be a challenge having a mid-week opening day (a Wednesday?!) (in the middle of October for a garden centre!!) but the challenge was on.
Online advertising, during the construction process, had built up a database of 120 email addresses, 500 followers on the Facebook page and 298 ‘interested’ in the opening day event.
The figures were encouraging but there are always sweaty palms on the day of an event – even moreso being mid-week. Would people actually turn up?
The answer was a resounding YES.
The opening went well with a good turnout for the 11am ribbon cutting.
The car park was full throughout the day and the stats for footfall were more than double the number for a normal Wednesday. The smaller entrance counter had 350 on the day with a new larger entrance/exit, opened for the first time that day, sadly not counting any footfall.
The visitors were happy (with numerous comments and reviews later offered online) and many took the opportunity to look around the whole site and many had purchases from the new Plant Barn too.
The official word from The Plant Barn “It was wonderful to see so many people and the whole site really was buzzing – thanks for rooting for us,” albeit very true however, we wrote all the post event PR too!!
In all, a very successful launch day.
